Environment Lecture at Visitation School
On Feb 28, 2025, thanks to an invitation by Teacher Johanna Huang, ZIRAN speakers Jing & Grace had the honor of delivering a lecture on environmental sustainability to her senior Chinese class. This was particularly relevant as exploring environmental and climate issues forms a part of the AP Chinese curriculum.

In less than an hour, we explored a variety of topics, ranging from the causes and effects of pollution to actionable steps we can take to reduce waste and ensure a sustainable future for our planet. The lecture was delivered bilingually in both English and Chinese, allowing the students to learn and practice Chinese vocabulary as well.
The highlight of the session came at the end when the students were tasked with sorting various items of 'trash,' some of which were quite challenging, to see if they could dispose of them correctly. Impressively, they scored perfectly! The secret to their success? They had learned to read the labels carefully!
We also discussed potential future collaborations with Teacher Huang. It was an engaging, educational, and energizing few hours!

One student even shared her plans to major in Environmental Engineering in college- how exciting!
