Zoe Zou brings her public sector experience and a strong commitment to community building. She previously worked in the legislative branch and currently works in local government, with knowledge of public accountability and policy processes.
In addition to her professional work, she has been actively involved in community leadership through local schools and civic initiatives. As a former PTA board member in her son’s school, she successfully advocated for dedicated school PTA funding to establish an annual Heritage Night - a lasting tradition that celebrates cultural diversity and fosters community connections.
She co-founded Edina Asian American Alliance (EAAA), a local multigenerational advocacy organization bringing together Asian American students and parents. She helped organize community petitions urging Edina school district and city to formally condemn racism during the rise in anti-Asian hate. These advocacy efforts contributed to broader community dialogue and resulted in updates in the Edina School District Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook addressing anti-racism and inclusion.
She is passionate about helping youth and community members understand and engage in legislative and political processes. She hopes to strengthen connections between community voices and public decision-making while empowering the next generation of civic leaders in making a difference.
