The Most Beautiful Sustainability Lecture at a Ladies' Flower Arrangement Party

On a radiant mid-summer afternoon, August 2nd, 2025, a group of elegant and spirited ladies gathered in the lovely backyard of Fei Shen, a beloved teaching artist and jeweler. The theme was Flower Arrangement. Women love flowers; women are like flowers. What could be more wonderful than celebrating our beauty by creating beauty together?

Our thoughtful host, Fei, purchased several bundles of fresh blooms, while some ladies brought flowers, leaves, and twigs from their own gardens.

Chatting and giggling, ladies created all kinds of arrangements: flower pots, flower vases, and flower baskets. These were not just floral designs; they were blossoms of poetry woven into the fabric of life.

Prior to the party, Jing had volunteered to guide waste sorting at the party. Fei welcomed and embraced the idea warmly. Then, at the gathering, Fei cheerfully suggested, “Why don’t you give us a lecture!” What started as a simple plan to help reduce waste turned into the honor of sharing a full talk on sustainability!

Upon hearing this, our elegant and talented photographer, Wewa, quickly made the arrangement, and a flower-adorned stage came to life in no time!

With heart-brimming excitement, Jing and Grace from ZIRAN delivered one of the most beautiful talks. The ladies, radiant both inside and out, listened attentively and asked thoughtful questions. We could tell right away that new seeds of actions were beginning to take root, starting from small steps like organic recycling and composting. To help turn inspiration into action, ZIRAN distributed kitchen countertop composting starter kits, repurposed from oversized coffee containers with easy-open lids. The ladies were delighted to take one home, eager to begin collecting kitchen scraps, start backyard composting, and contribute to creating a greener lifestyle together! Our hearts were simply overflowing with joy.
